The Lutheran church is known as a singing church. Martin Luther wrote many hymns and songs in the language of the people. Johann Sebastian Bach was a Lutheran church musician who wrote music for every Sunday of the church year, as well as for Holy Week (the week before Easter), Easter, Advent (the four weeks before Christmas), Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. We have a long heritage of music.

At Trinity, we have a few opportunities to participate in musical groups who then offer their gifts in worship. Our Director of Music, Worship, and the Arts is Christy Kimball.

Trinity Choir is for anyone, 9th grade and up, who would like to sing. We meet on Sunday mornings at 9 am in the Askeland Lounge. We sing for worship approximately twice per month plus on special events during the year. Please contact christy@trinityvermillion.org for information.

Trinity Tones is a new choir for students in grades 6-12, directed by Kevin Phillips, a senior at USD. We usually meet on Thursday evenings at 7 pm in the balcony of the sanctuary. There are times when the schedule changes so please contact kevin.phillips@coyotes.usd.edu or christy@trinityverillion.org for information.

BLAST students sing in worship at the end of each of their units of study, so approximately every 5 weeks. They work with Christy each week during their BLAST time. We sing on Wednesday night immediately following that last study day as well as the following Sunday for the 10 am service. Please contact office@trinityvermillion.org or christy@trinityvermillion.org for more information.

Instrumentalists are encouraged to contact Christy through the church office, 605.624.4442 or via email at christy@trinityvermillion.org. We love having instruments play musical offering or along with our hymns. Instrumentalists in middle school and high school play a couple of times a year during worship, usually along with the hymns.

Small groups or soloists are invited to sing or play during any worship service. Please contact Christy if you are interested in participating in a small group or have a group in mind! We love to hear what you have to offer. At this current time, we are looking for small groups or solos for our Christmas Eve worship services at 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
